What is Together/AboutUs?

Together/AboutUs is a  relationship health app developed by leading couples therapists. At Together/AboutUs, we believe that our relationships require regular care, just like our physical and mental health. We use the latest behavioral science to help you get unstuck and build a healthier, more fulfilling relationship.

Whether you're just starting a  relationship or are already in  one long-term, we are here to help you learn how to strengthen your bond using practical, science-based tools.

The features of the app include:

  • Immersive, interactive video sessions that make you feel like you're in an actual 1:1 therapy session
  • Reflection cards: Pick a question, share your answer with your partner and start a meaningful conversation that will deepen your emotional connection
  • Check-in: Every 3 days, check in with your feelings and reflect on how your relationship has been going  to help you keep track of your progress
  • Your Personal Matrix:  Use this life-changing tool from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you behave like the partner you want to be, even when painful stuff gets in the way
  • Partner Connect: If you're ready, you can invite your partner into the app and connect your accounts, so that you can work on your relationship together
  • Together Tab: Connect with your partner to  see each other's progress and answers to reflection cards, and  show support by liking one another’s  activity (if you want to!)
  • Reminders: Set your own reminders and get into a routine of working in the app, so that you can maximize your chances of seeing positive changes to your relationship  within the first couple of weeks

How does it work?

Together/AboutUs is your personalized journey to a happier, more mindful relationship. Together/AboutUs’ at-home program combines science-based exercises, guided journaling, and mindfulness training to give you a hands-on, digital self-therapy experience.

Not every couple needs to see a therapist in person  to start making effective changes. Simply applying the principles you’ll learn with Together/AboutUs at home can go a long way towards transforming your relationship.

Everything you'll practice with Together/AboutUs is based on cutting edge psychological science. Two different, yet complementary  approaches will be combined in your interactive video sessions. Both of these approaches  are supported by hundreds of scientific studies. We're going to distill their essence into easy-to-digest, yet highly effective bites for you.

The first approach is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). The second is Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT). ACT has proved highly effective in helping folks get out of their ruts and move toward the life they want. EFT is the best-validated approach to help partners feel more connected.

The exercises you’ll do with Together/AboutUs have been developed by a leading therapist and trainer who has helped many people like yourself reach their relationship goals.

  • How is Together/AboutUs personalized?

Together/AboutUs is based on  cutting-edge technology. We use AI and Machine Learning to provide you with a personalized content selection.

Each video session contains a series of interactive prompts. Your responses to these prompts are used to adapt  subsequent content  and tailor it to your specific needs.

  • How do I create an account?

To create an account, download the Together/AboutUs app from the Google Play Store (if you're using an Android device) or the App Store (if you're using an iPhone).

Once you have the app installed:

  1. Open Together/AboutUs and tap the white "Get Started" button.
  1. Tap the dark gray "Continue" button at the bottom of the screen.
  1. Complete the onboarding survey—this normally takes around 1-2 minutes.
  1. Choose your preferred way of signing up:
  1. Google
  2. Apple
  3. Email
  1. You're all set! :)

  • How can I connect with my partner?

You'll be prompted to do so in your first session, but don't worry if you feel like that's too early.

At any point, you can invite your partner directly from the "Together" tab by tapping the "+" icon at the  top of the screen:



  • How do I unpair my account from my partner's?
    To unpair your account from your partner's, follow the steps below:

  • How do I keep track of my partner's activity?

    Under the Together tab, you can see your own activity as well as your partner's:

  • How do I schedule reminders?

    If you missed the opportunity to set up  reminders during the onboarding session, don't worry. You can always set them up  later in the app's settings:

For your reminders to work, make sure  you have switched the "Reminders Enabled" toggle at the bottom of the screen to “on”. , Please also ensure that you have enabled push notifications from Together/AboutUs on your phone.. Learn how to enable  push notifications here {link to following Q&A}

  • How do I enable/disable notifications?

To enable notifications, first go to the "Set Reminders" tab and make sure that the "Reminders Enabled" toggle on the bottom of the screen is on. It looks like this:

For iOS:

  1. Go to Settings
  1. > Notifications.
  2. Tap on the Together/AboutUs app below Notification Style, then turn Allow Notifications on or off, like this:

For Android:

  1. Open your phone's Settings app.
  2. Tap Notifications and then App settings.
  3. Under 'Most recent', find apps that recently sent you notifications.
  1. To find more apps, in the drop-down menu, tap All apps.
  1. Tap the Together/AboutUs app.
  2. Turn the app's notifications on or off.

Tip: If you don't see 'Recently sent', you're using an older Android version. Instead, tap App notifications and tap  the Together/AboutUs app. You can turn notifications, notification dots and notification categories on or off.

  • How do I adjust the background sound?

    You can adjust the volume or completely mute the background music of the app within the app's settings:

  • How do I delete my account?

Please note that deleting your account is permanent and irreversible. Once your account has been deleted, all your data, progress and relationship history within Together/AboutUs will be lost. If you are paired, your partner won't be able to see your activity anymore.

If you still want to delete your account, you can do so from the Settings menu:

  • How do I change my name on the app?

To change your name in the app, simply head  to “Settings” and then “Account Info”.Tap on "First name" and type in your name, then click "Save":



  • What happens to my progress if I cancel my subscription?

Your completed sessions and exercises won't be lost if you cancel your subscription, but you will not be able to access any future sessions or exercises.

/ All your completed sessions and exercises, with the exception of the introductory session, will be automatically lost if you decide to cancel your subscription. Likewise, you will not be able to access any future sessions or exercises.

If your account is paired with your partner's account, the same will automatically happen to their account and they will no longer be able to access any of the content. You will also no longer be able to access your partner's activity and vice versa.

  • I purchased a subscription but want a refund. What should I do?

If you are using an iPhone or iPad:

If you purchased your subscription using your iTunes account and are receiving payment confirmation emails from Apple, you will need to submit a refund request to Apple.

This is because we cannot access the App Store's billing platform or your payment details, as Apple has a separate, proprietary system for billing and payment information.

To request a refund for your purchase, please visit Apple's support page here: https://support.apple.com/contact.

Alternatively, you can call their support number in your region, which you can find here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201232.

In the meantime, make sure you've canceled  your subscription here to prevent it from renewing automatically.

If you are using an Android phone or tablet:

If you purchased your subscription using your Google Play account and are receiving payment confirmation emails from Google, please contact our team with your order number, so that we can assist you with this.

Your order number begins with GPA., followed by a series of numbers like this: GPA. XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXX.

We'd be very grateful for your feedback if you could also let us know the reason why you want to cancel your subscription. This will help us to further improve.

  • How do I cancel my trial or subscription?

By default, trials and subscriptions are set to automatically renew unless you cancel them in your iTunes or Google Play account.  This needs to be done at least 24 hours before the subscription is set to renew.

If you cancel your trial or subscription on the day it is set to renew, then the renewal will already be underway.

If you purchased your subscription or trial on an Apple device, follow the steps below to cancel its renewal directly in your iTunes account:

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Settings app
  2. Tap on your Name and Apple ID, iCloud, Media & Purchases
  3. Tap on Media & Purchases
  4. Select View Account (you may be asked to log in to your Apple account at this point)
  5. Tap Subscriptions
  6. Select the Together/AboutUs subscription
  7. Tap Cancel Subscription to disable it from auto-renewing at the end of the current billing cycle. If you can’t see an option to cancel, the subscription has already been canceled and won't be renewed.

Once you've successfully canceled the renewal of your subscription, you should see Select an option to resubscribe.

If you purchased your subscription or trial on an Android device, you will need to cancel its renewal in your Google Play account:

  1. On your Android phone, open the Google Play Store app
  2. Tap Apps and click on the icon in the top right-hand corner of the search bar
  3. Select Payments and subscription
  4. Select Subscriptions and then click on the Together/AboutUs subscription
  5. Tap Cancel subscription
  6. Follow the on screen instructions

  • Does my partner have to pay to use Together/AboutUs as well?

No, only one of you needs to pay for the subscription. As soon as you become a paying subscriber, you will automatically be able to connect with your partner, as this is part of the subscription package.

  • Where is the content coming from?
    All of our course content   is science-backed and draws on the latest research in relationship psychology. All video sessions and exercises are  designed and developed together with a leading therapist.

  • Is AboutUsTogether secure?
    Your safety and security are our #1 priorities. All journaling entries are encrypted and saved in the cloud. No sensitive data is shared with third-parties or outside partners.
