Is Relationship Coaching the same as couple
counselling or marriage guidance? Relationship
coaching, following the togethertogether approach,
combines elements of coaching and counselling. Its
purpose is to enable clients to improve their
relationship. It may be seen as an alternative to
marriage guidance for some couples. Relationship
coaching can benefit partners experiencing difficulty in
their relationship, it can also benefit partners in a
good, sound relationship who simply want to improve
their relationship further. Can relationship
coaching help people considering divorce?
Relationship coaching seeks to help a couple improve
their relationship. Sometimes, couples considering
divorce may find themselves brought closer together
through relationship coaching. For some couples,
separation or divorce may be considered better than
continuing the relationship as at present. A
relationship coach will support both partners through
such times but the coach is not there to encourage or
support divorce, any such actions must be with the
agreement of both partners.
Is relationship coaching expensive? The cost
of relationship coaching financially is on a par with
other independent professional approaches. Costs can be
negotiated with your coach and will reflect both the
time and the skills your coach brings to the sessions.
Sessions can be arranged over periods of time to best
suit you and your financial situation. If your
relationship is important, what price would you put on
improving it? What qualifications does a
relationship coach have? A relationship coach is a
fully qualified coach who is trained in dealing with
people and issues. In addition to diploma or certificate
training, a relationship coach has a desire to support
clients improve their lives through improving their
relationship. What about children? All
clients of a relationship coach must be over 18 years of
age. A child cannot be involved in coaching without the
consent and presence of one or more adult with parental
rights. In relationship coaching sessions, partners will
be encouraged to consider the needs of any children in
their relationship and to consult with the children.
Can relationship coaching be of use to same-sex
relationships? Your relationship coach is not
prejudiced against or in favour of any type of
relationship. Same sex partners may, therefore, find
